Axel Schmid took up his position as a sales representative in our team on October 9 of this year. The 57-year-old is the father of one son and currently lives in Bad Kissingen. In this interview, he tells us more about himself and how he joined PrehKeyTec: 

Hello Axel, thank you very much for taking the time for this interview. Let's get straight into it. How did you come to join PrehKeyTec?

Axel: Hello, I became aware of PrehKeyTec through a job advertisement. The description really appealed to me. As I come from an industrial background, my interest was immediately awakened.

You now work in sales at PrehKeyTec. What are your main tasks and how did you get started?

Axel: In my role in sales at PrehKeyTec, I am responsible for business development and key account management. This means that I mainly look after larger customers and am constantly looking for new business opportunities. My start was great. When I begin something new, I usually put 150 % effort into it. I received a really warm welcome and I have already built up a very good relationship with my colleagues within a short amount of time.

Your professional career is impressive. Could you tell us more about it?

Axel: Of course. I have a background as an industrial engineer and initially worked in electrical engineering. After that, I worked in marketing at Siemens in Munich for six years. A little later, I was employed as a sales manager at a semiconductor company before founding my own solar company in Chile, which specialized in components for large commercial solar projects. Sales played the key role here as well.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in sales?

Axel: Even as a child and during my studies, I sold things to classmates and fellow students. These early experiences showed me that sales is my passion. I have always enjoyed successfully selling products and ideas.

Finally, what are your hobbies and passions outside of work?

Axel: In my free time, I love designing constructions and building, especially in the areas of house construction, conversion, and renovation. I'm also interested in investment and enjoy traveling to gather new impressions.
