On February 2nd, 2022, County Administrator Thomas Habermann and Head of the County Development Department, Ph.D. Joerg Geier, visited PrehKeyTec in Mellrichstadt. As part of regular business talks, companies in the area have the possibility to present themselves and discuss future opportunities in the region with the representatives of the county.

After the two visitors were welcomed by our Managing Director Erik Miersch, Production Manager Walter Weigand gave them a tour through production. He stressed the different techniques and extensive know-how in production processes. The manufacturing processes at PrehKeyTec range from manual assembling through fully automated steps up to collaborative robots. Some of our key technologies include electronics, gluing, punching and laser labeling.

After touring the factory, Erik Miersch presented our company and our products in detail together with Klaus Schmoeger (Head of Construction) and Michael Seidler (Senior Sales Manager). Erik Miersch talked about our values and our connection to the region: “The know-how of our employees is our greatest asset. In a medium-sized company like ours, every employee must act entrepreneurially and think outside the box. We know that every colleague contributes his or her part to the bigger picture," emphasized Erik Miersch. “Our employees are closely connected to the region and we as a company remain loyal to our headquarters in the Northern Bavaria area. With strong regional added value, we deliver our products from Mellrichstadt all over the world.”

Michael Seidler presented our product portfolio and used case studies from various branches to show where our keyboards can be found in everyday life. At the end of the company presentation, Klaus Schmoeger explained how our R&D is structured and which technologies are used in our company.

During the wrap up discussion, the representatives of the county also had an open ear when it came to funding opportunities. Thomas Habermann and Ph.D. Joerg Geier pledged their active support for the economic development. So PrehKeyTec will expand its partnership-based cooperation with the county even further.
